Seong-Hyeon Leem

Seong-Hyeon Leem was born in 1992 and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University with honors.

Ms. Leem studied at Sunhwa Arts School and High School and graduated both schools as a scholarship student. Her teachers include Aviram Reichert, Eun-Joo Heo, and she had master classes with world-class musicians Paul Badura Skoda, Menahem Pressler, Paul Gulda, Edward Wolanin, Arie Vardi, and others.

In 2012, she had a debut as a soloist in Europe. Korea Austria Culture and Technology Exchange Association in Austria invited her to hold a young artists concert in Mozarthaus Konzertsaal in Vienna (2012, 2014, 2015). In addition, she also performed at the Young Artist Concert held by the Korean Cultural Institute in Budapest (2012, 2015) and Poland (2015).-Seong-Hyeon performed in concerts with the Sunhwa Wind Orchestra at the Universal Arts Center, Gunpo Philharmonic Orchestra, and “Korea and China’s Young Artists Concert” at Shenyang College of Education in China. She had a recital at Kumho Art Hall as a Kumho young artist in the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation.

Ms. Leem is a prizewinner of numerous competitions, including the Suri Music Concours, Segye Times Concours, TBC Music Concours, Sunhwa Music Competition, Audition for Chopin Scholarship at Seoul National University, and the Korean Liszt Competition. As a winner of the Korean Liszt Competition, she was also invited for a recital which was held by the Korean Liszt Society. She was a finalist at the Conservatory Music in the Mountains in Colorado.

Recent competition awards include 2nd prize at the 7th Rosario Marciano International Piano Competition in Vienna (2015) and the Soroptimist Club Prize at the 66th Gian Battista Viotti International Music Competition in Vercelli.
