Quanzhou Yan has performed in many concerts and given solo recitals in many cities as well as participated in national and international festivals.

Mr. Yan won top awards in many competitions, including First Prize at the National Bakhchiyeva Piano Competition in 2013 (Russia), First Prize at the 10th “Way to Master” International Piano Competition in 2014 (Russia), and First Prize at the 2018 Semper Music International Competition (Italy). He is also the winner of the Music Teachers National Association—Steinway Young Artist Piano Competition in the South Central Division for both 2020 and 2021. Mr. Yan attended the Semper Music International Festival in 2018 and the PianoTexas International Festival in 2019, where he received instruction from internationally recognized pianists and pedagogues such as Pascal Rogé, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Jacob Katsnelson, Arie Vardi, and Stephen Hough. He was a winner of the 2016 Texas Christian University concerto competition, performing Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the TCU Orchestra under the baton of Alexander Fokkens. Mr. Yan has also created a cadenza for Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21, which he performed with the Rostov Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Alexander Mileikovsky.

Quanzhou Yan began studying piano at age 5. In 2011, he was accepted to the Central Conservatory of Music in China and the Rostov State Rachmaninoff Conservatory in Russia. During five years of studying at the Rostov State Rachmaninoff Conservatory, he successfully completed his Bachelor of Music degree in the studio of critically acclaimed professor and People’s Artist of Russia, Rimma Skolohodova. Mr. Yan graduated with a Master of Music degree from Texas Christian University in 2018 under the guidance of esteemed pianist and pedagogue Dr. Tamás Ungár. Following graduation, he was awarded a full scholarship and decided to continue his Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance at TCU.
